Let’s get the details out of the way…..I’m Brian McDonnell, and I’m the creator of BMAC Studio. While I’ll always be the photographer, I’m more and more evolving into a creative. I like the freedom it allows, and the pressure….It only took 10 years to become comfortable in using the label.
Break it down….
Photography
There’s nothing more beautiful than to capture a person as they come alive. Whether in a headshot, a portrait or in dance, the environment I create allows you to do just that….To come alive. To be part of this experience is why I am a photographer.
It’s what brought me here. I’m a photographer. I’m best known for my headshots and dance & yoga photography. My greatest strength as a photographer has nothing to do with a camera, lights or eye. It’s my ability to create space for a person to feel beautiful, connected and seen. It’s about making the process of being photographed exciting and fun. The fact that I can compose, light and capture it….A nice little bonus.
When you’re ready to upgrade your image, get the details here: Headshot Pricing and shoot me an email to get things going.
If you look through my portfolio, and have an idea that you want to explore, shoot me an email, and let’s talk it through.
I also invite you to check out my wedding site or senior portraits!
Web Design
To sit with a client exploring their dreams is what inspires me. To take these desires and help shape them, and turn them into something remarkable….This is why I help build websites. I love the process.
Yes, you may have noticed that I did not say web “designer”. The thing is, just as I feel that photographer is an earned title, I feel I should give the same respect to design and designers. I do web sites because I enjoy it and have the knowledge to get them done. My strength is not the design, but rather the structure. It’s the ability to take a bucket of information, spread it out, and place it where it needs to be….To help guide a visitor to where you want them to go. To make it simple to navigate. The resources are all out there to create something professional, stylish and clean, and bringing them together is what I do for you.
Creator of Space.
After spending years alone, staring at my computer, I’ve discovered that this is not the environment in which I thrive. I crave collaboration and community, so I set out to create space in which this can take place.
Yes, this is an odd one, but it is something I love to do. I currently have a photo studio, which is available for rent. It’s filled with beautiful natural light, and multiple options for quickly creating different looks.
I have a new space, down the hall from the studio, which will be home to the design side of the business. I will also be making this available for workshops, talks, creative groups or whatever else one may need a space for. It’s pretty cool, and I have to say, I’ve had fun creating it over the past couple months. If you’re curious or have ideas, please, do share.
So, that is the general idea of what I do, though if you check back in a month, there could be something different and new, so I encourage you to do so, and the month after that.
